We run an art gallery in our bright, airy office at Aparaaditehas in Tartu. It’s open to both art enthusiasts and artists seeking a space to showcase their work.
The gallery began in 2012, when, in connection with our support for the Tartu Young Art Auction, a few of the auction pieces were temporarily displayed on the walls of our office. We really liked the result, and that’s how the idea of the office gallery was born – to start hosting exhibitions ourselves.
The office gallery is a win for everyone involved:
We eventually moved our office to Aparaaditehas in Tartu – a vibrant creative hub filled with cafés, design shops, studios, and offices of innovative companies. It’s an inspiring place where active and imaginative people do fascinating things. The gallery fits perfectly into this kind of environment.
Our office itself feels like it was made for exhibiting art. It’s a classic loft-style space with lots of floor area, high ceilings, huge windows facing the morning sun, and plenty of clean wall space. The furniture and interior design are neutral, so the artwork can truly take center stage.
We also curate the corridor gallery on the second floor of Building II, which leads directly to our office. Over time, this space has become known as the Redwall Corridor Gallery, as there are other corridor gallery areas in Aparaaditehas as well. The corridor gallery allows us to expand the exhibition space beyond our office or to host separate shows by two different artists at once.
The exhibitions in our gallery spaces change two to three times a year. The frequency of these changes depends on the schedule of Aparaaditehas’ Gallery Night events, as each new show opens as part of the program. At other times, the Redwall Office and Corridor Galleries are open to visitors during regular working hours.
